I am a native of the Valley having graduated from Mitchell High School in 1973. I attended Midland Lutheran College, graduating in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Secondary Education. I played varsity basketball at Midland as a three-year starter and earned four letters.
Teaching school and coaching at Johnson-Brock High School took up the next two years, along with marrying my wife Cindy.
I then attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, graduating in 1983. I practiced one year in Omaha and then joined Scottsbluff Vision Clinic in 1984.
Cindy and I have two boys, also Mitchell High School graduates.
I enjoy golf, Husker football, and most spectator sports. I dabble in fantasy football and our family attends the First Christian Church in Scottsbluff.
