LASIK (laser in-situ keratomileusis) is a quick and effective outpatient surgical procedure designed to permanently improve everyday vision.  Many vision problems, including refractive errors such as myopia and astigmatism, are caused by a misshapen cornea.  To treat these conditions, trained Ophthalmologists expose the misshapen cornea  by lifting away a flap of outer corneal tissue.  Then, they reshape the cornea by using an extremely precise medical laser.  The flap is then replaced, where it heals without stitches.

Our Doctors of Optometry at Scottsbluff Vision Clinic & Eastern Wyoming Eye Clinic will work closely with Ophthalmologist Dr. Jon Dishler of Dishler Laser Institute in Denver, Colorado, (www.dishler.com) to determine if your eyes are suitable for LASIK.  They will also perform all of your pre-operative and post-operative LASIK services.

During your pre-operative visit, our Doctors will dilate your eyes to more thoroughly check your eye health.  They will explain what to expect the day of surgery and beyond, review the benefits and risks involved, and answer any questions you may have about the procedure.

Your post-operative care with our Doctors commonly includes periodic eye exams throughout the year following surgery.  At these visits, your medication instructions will be reviewed along with your overall eye health in order to determine if your eyes are healing properly after surgery.
