Many parents assume school eye screenings are sufficient, but because their assessment is very limited, they can lead to undiagnosed problems.  A comprehensive eye examination by our Doctors of Optometry will entail not only an assessment of the refractive error and ocular health, but also a thorough analysis of the binocular vision system.  This will reveal how the eyes work together to focus and align.  If there is any deficiency in binocularity, it can have a significant impact on how well a child can see and ultimately perform academically, socially and athletically. 

       

Nebraska State Law now requires children to have a visual evaluation before entering school, just as they are required to have a physical examination.  The visual examination must be completed within six months prior to the child's entry into school.
